Blackjack Surrender

One of the best forms of standard blackjack from Playtech is Blackjack Surrender. This game has all the features that players get in a standard game of blackjack, and can be played in single-hand as well as multi-hand mode. Players can split any pair, as well as double down if they want. Players also have the option of placing insurance bets in the event of getting a hand they figure will play out badly. The one difference in this game is that players have the option of surrendering on the first two cards, once the dealer checks for blackjack. In such a situation, the player loses half the amount he has wagered.

Blackjack Surrender is played using 6 regular decks of cards, like most of the other blackjack variants available. The dealer deals out 4 cards, 2 for the player and 2 for himself. There are no options for placing side bets, though players have a choice of doubling their bets during the course of a hand. All the rules that apply to a standard blackjack game are applicable to Blackjack Surrender as well.

The basic objective of playing Blackjack Surrender is simple: get blackjack or score 21 without going bust. Players can do this by using the proper strategy when it comes to deciding the course of action once the dealer deals the cards. To win, you can either score 21 or a blackjack or wait for the dealer to go bust.

How to Play

Players can play Blackjack Surrender for fun or for real money. Playing for fun gives them a chance to hone their game, learn the different bets and play options available, and how to use them. Once a player opts to play for real money, the first step is to place a bet. Players can do this by clicking on the chip denomination from the list available. The minimum bet in real money play is 1 credit while the maximum is 300.

Once a player places his bet, the dealer deals the cards. The player gets two cards, both face up. The dealer also gets 2 cards, one face up and the other face down. Based on the cards the player gets and what is visible of the dealer’s hand, the player takes a call on what move to make next.

The player has a chance of clicking the Hit button if he wants to hit and get an additional card. If he thinks he has a strong hand, say more than 17, he can opt to stand as well by clicking the Stand button. If the hand is really bad, the player has the option to surrender. As mentioned, the player can surrender after getting just two cards once the dealer looks for blackjack. Surrendering early means the player loses half his bet amount.

The dealer has to stand on 17 or above. A player can split pairs, but is not allowed the luxury of re-splitting. Players are offered an insurance wager if the open card in the dealer’s hand is an Ace as that heightens the possibility of a blackjack. There are other things that a player can do.

Doubling down is allowed, and a player has the option of doubling down even after a split. In a situation when a player doubles down as the dealer has an ace, and subsequently notches up blackjack, the player loses both bets. The player loses only half the bet amount if he doubles down with the player initially showing a 10 and going on to rack up blackjack. The same logic applies to split aces as well. Players are allowed only one more card before they are required to stand if they split aces. In case one of the split aces gets a 10 as the second card, the result is 21 and not blackjack.

Players can wager between 1 and 300 credits in Blackjack Surrender. The chip size varies between 0.01 and 100. When a player wins with blackjack the payout is 3:2, while a normal win pays out 1:1. If a player uses an insurance bet, the payout is 2:1.

How to Play and Some Basic Tips

Blackjack Surrender is great fun since it is almost like a regular blackjack game. The player has the advantage of surrendering on the first two cards once the dealer checks for blackjack. This helps him to save half the amount wagered during the hand. Players are able to use regular blackjack options like Stand, Hit, Split, and Double during a hand.

A player wins at Blackjack Surrender if he gets blackjack or if his cards add up to 21. This is like a regular blackjack game, as mentioned earlier, which means no side bets to boost the chances of winnings. However, regular options like an insurance bet, splitting pairs, doubling, etc. ensure players have a good shot at beating the dealer. The surrender option, which a player can use after two cards once the dealer checks for blackjack, gives him a chance to save some of his wagered money.

The minimum credit during a real money hand is 1, while the maximum is 300. Players have the option of doubling their bet any time during a hand. Doubling down can happen even after a player has split pairs.
