After having had a successful year, Playtech comments on its 2015 Full Year results. Alan Jackson, Playtech’s Chairman, noted that not only was 2015 a particularly busy year for Playtech, it was also a lucrative one.
Playtech Shows Substantial Growth in 2015 Results
Jackson noted that 2015 saw the beginning of Playtech’s omni-channel ONE offering in the gaming division, which has shown strong growth throughout the year, and currently accounts for 41% of the company’s gaming revenues. In 2015, 10 new licensees signed up with Playtech, which will have a significant effect on 2016’s profits.
In addition to continued growth in gaming, Playtech created its financial division in 2015. The company acquired TradeFX, which is now known as Markets Limited. Jackson commented on the other potential financial acquisitions of Ava Trade and Plus500 that feel through. Despite the disappointment regarding Plus500 and Ava Trade, Playtech is pleased to note that Markets Limited has continued to show growth through the end of the year.
Before introducing Ron Hoffman, Jackson said: “Looking forward we see many opportunities to expand this record, both organically and through M&A and have great confidence in the continued success in 2016 and beyond.”
Ron Hoffman, Playtech’s Chief Financial Officer, expanded on Jackson’s summary regarding 2015. He explained that even without the acquisitions, Playtech has still seen growth from its other sectors.
Hoffman explained that after the effect of the UK POC taxation, underlying revenue grew by 26%. The adjusted EBITDA was up by 23%, and the company’s net profit grew by 16%.
He said: “Playtech, one again, delivered a strong performance across all verticals with the expected exception of poker, reflecting the continued market trends, becoming now the smallest line item on our top line.”
Playtech Shows Strong Growth in Casino Division
Casino was once again Playtech’s largest vertical, and showed growth of 26%. The casino division showed 14% growth excluding acquisitions, and it showed 16% growth after the UK POC tax was added back. The growth was a results of top UK casino customers such as Gala Coral, Sky, and Ladbrokes, along with strong growth in the Asian market. Mobile casino revenue was more than doubled when compared with the previous financial year. Other strong growth areas included Playtech’s open platform and bingo side games.
