About Playtech Tens or Better Video Poker
Playtech has a number of video poker variations for video poker fans to try out at their favorite online and now mobile casinos. One of them is Tens or Better. Tens or Better plays a lot like the regular video poker game and has an eerie resemblance to Jacks or Better. The only difference is that the minimum winning hand in this game is a pair of 10s, as against a pair of Jacks in Jacks or Better. With the right hand – a Royal Flush – a player could win a cool 4000 coin payout.
Tens or Better from Playtech uses a standard 52-card deck. The bet is a critical part of the whole game, and players can adjust their bet amounts during the course of a game. The minimum bet per line in this game is 0.05, while the maximum is 5. The maximum bet across all lines is 25.
Bonus Round or Gamble Feature
Like all other video poker games from Playtech, Tens or Better also comes with the Gamble feature. This feature allows players a shot at increasing their winnings, by as much as half of the original amount or even double. The Gamble feature is available once a player has a winning hand. When this feature comes into play, a player has three options:
- He can choose the Double option to take a shot at doubling his winnings. However, the player also runs the risk of losing his winnings if he does not get it right.
- He can choose the Double Half option, which gives him a shot at increasing his winnings by half the original win if he gets it right or losing half of it if he gets it wrong.
- He can choose the Collect option, which allows him to bypass the gamble option and collect the winnings from his hand.
When the player opts for the Gamble feature, he can choose to use either the Double or the Double Half option. A new screen appears with 5 fresh cards dealt. One of the cards is open and the remaining four are closed. The player needs to choose a card from these four whose value is higher than that of the open card. If he chooses correctly, he doubles his winnings (if he has chosen the Double option) or increases it by half the original amount (if he has chosen Double Half). He loses all his winnings from that hand if he guesses wrong (for the Double option) or half of it (for the Double Half option).
The player can use the Gamble feature until one of the following two things happen:
- He decides to collect.
- He guesses wrongly.
While playing Tens or Better, the player must aim to get the best hand to ensure maximum payout. However, even the best hand may not result in a big payout if the bet amount is small. It makes sense, if a player is looking for big wins, to bet the maximum amount instead of just small sums. Small bets work if the player is just looking for a good time playing the game for long hours, without losing his entire bankroll.
How to Play Playtech Tens or Better
To play Tens or Better for real money, players must first place their bets. Once the player has chosen the proper coin denomination, he needs to choose the kind of bet; he can choose a single bet (Bet One) or the maximum bet (Bet Max). Then, he clicks the Deal button.
The player gets 5 cards, from which he needs to select the ones to hold. The rejected cards are replaced by fresh cards, and any winning hand that arises is paid out. A winning hand also triggers the Gamble feature, which the player can use or ignore.
Players can also customize the screen to an extent. They can tweak the following:
- Audio settings
- Sound volume
- Game settings
